We are looking for an assistant to help us with the clay gym sessions starting from the 1st of July.

THROWING COURSE
A course by Yuval Harel and Benedetta Pompili where you’ll learn about throwing techniques. From preparing the clay for the wheel, centering, shaping, trimming, adding handles.
At the end you’ll have the basic skills to continue and practice throwing on your own and several complete pieces to take home with you.
The materials (clay and glazes) in the studio are based on recycled raw materials only.
The fee includes:
The class is run in a small group of max. 4 participants to allow personal guidance and adapt to your level & interest (from complete beginner to wanting to brush up technique).

THROWING FOLLOW-UP
Two sessions with Yuval Harel and/or Benedetta Pompili to keep growing your throwing techniques. From using profiles, creating sprouts, adding handles, using bats, and trimming.At the end you’ll have the skills to continue and practice throwing on your own, as well as bringing complete pieces to take home with you.
The fee includes:

ASH GLAZES WORKSHOP
Saturdays 19th & 26th July
10.00 am - 12:30 pm
Two week Ash glazing course led by Hannah Rose Whittle.
This course will cover how to process and mix glazes with ash, a variety of bio-ash will be provided and you are welcome to also bring your own. In the first session you will be introduced to ash glazes, make test tiles and some initial glaze tests. In the second session you will make glaze samples and develop bespoke recipes to take back to your studio practice. All tests will be fired in an electric kiln.

HAND BUILDING
Tuesday 15th & 22nd July
6:30 - 9 pm
Two week introduction to handbuilding and glazing ceramics led by Hannah Rose Whittle.
The first class will cover making with various handbuilding techniques, including pinch pots, slab building and coil building. Come along with your own ideas and make functional or sculptural objects.
The second class will cover the basics of glazing, you will finish with your very own glazed ceramic objects.
Hannah Rose Whittle is an artist and researcher focusing on process led explorations into sustainable ceramics practices, highlighting material agency and knowledges.

AMSTERDAM GLAZES
Saturdays the 23rd & 30th of August and the 6th of September
2 - 5 pm
3 sessions of 1:1 learning how to preparing glazes for ceramics from scratch with artist Anna Leoni & designer Benedetta Pompili.
