GROUND TO GLAZE

From 10AM to 1:30 PM
2 sessions of 1 : 1 exprimenting and learning over the practical basics of glaze making from locally found resources. Led by designer Benedetta Pompili and artist Anna Leoni.
The course covers how to practically tackle the making of a glaze starting from found resources within the neighbourood, including household waste (f.e. glass, eggshells), architectural waste (bricks, concrete), industrial waste (f.e. ashes, rusted iron) and natural findings (seashells, granite rocks, etc.)
The workshop includes:
- Understanding what materials can be used and how to process them
- Learning the basics of glaze chemistry in a hands-on approach
- Making of samples & understanding of the behaviours of the glaze - Possibility of bringing your own materials and previously made objects to be glazed with the results of the tests.
