AMSTERDAM GLAZES

Sundays the 12th & 19th of April
10AM - 1PM

2 sessions of 1:1 learning the practical basics of glaze making from local and circular resources, led by social designer and material researcher Benedetta Pompili.
The course covers how to practically tackle the making of a glaze starting from wasted resources within the neighbourood, including household waste (f.e. glass, eggshells), architectural waste (bricks, concrete), found materials (f.e. seashells, rocks) and industrial waste (f.e. ashes, iron).
The workshop includes:
- Understanding what materials can be used and how to process them
- Learning the basics of glaze chemistry in a hands-on approach
- Making of samples & understanding of the behaviours of the glaze
- Possibility of bringing your own materials (seashells, eggshells, ashes) and previously made objects to be glazed with the results of the tests.
